As our pricing is contingent on the number of guests, our refund polcy will be deccided on a case by case basis. Terms will be agreed upon prior to payment. How do I book a custom tour?Custom tours are availale anytime! With a minimum of 4 people we can accommodate not only bespoke tours, but destination events like retreats, weddings etc. Message me today! Is this tour suitable for children? The standard tour is highly active and best suited for ages 13 and up. Families with younger children may prefer a private tour, which is fully customizable for groups of four or more.
How safe is Cuenca?a very safe city. However, as in any urban area, we recommend exercising caution and avoiding walking alone after dark.
What is the local currency? The official currency of Ecuador is the US Dollar. Cash is the primary method of payment. ATMs with English language options are widely available, though transaction fees typically range from $4 to $7.
Will my electronics work?Ecuador uses the same plug outlets as the United States. However, the voltage is lower. Mobile phone chargers will work fine, but high-wattage appliances like hair dryers should be left at home.
Which airport should I fly into?We recommend flying into Cuenca, but it requires a connection. Guayaquil is also a great option. While regional flights to Cuenca are available, they can be expensive. We can arrange safe, comfortable ground transportation for approximately $20 per person.
What About Partial Tours? We are more than happy to negotiate with you directly for any custom services! What essentials should I pack?We recommend bringing an umbrella, sunblock, and over-the-counter pain medication. At an elevation of over 8,000 ft, the sun is strong and the weather can change quickly. Most locals use umbrellas for both rain and sun protection.
How might the altitude affect me?Because Cuenca is located at a high elevation, some visitors may experience mild altitude sickness. We suggest bringing your preferred over-the-counter pain reliever. On the plus side, there are almost no biting insects at this altitude.
What is the time zone in Ecuador?Ecuador does not observe Daylight Saving Time. Depending on your home location and the time of year, there is often little to no time difference. Please verify your local offset before traveling.
When does the sun rise and set?Due to our equatorial location, sunrise and sunset occur consistently between 6:00 and 6:30 (AM and PM) year-round.
